The Power of Prayer

Prayer is our link with God, an awesome avenue through which we can express praise and adoration to Him for His goodness, love, and mercy; and an avenue through which we can voice our petitions and concerns. God's Word assures us that we can "come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).

Prayer also moves the hand of God on behalf of needs and circumstances in our church, our families, our community, nation, and world. Take time to pray and intercede for these areas as God leads you. Become part of a prayer group and intercede with others in times of corporate prayer. As you seek God's help, expect reports of great victory to follow as God answers prayer.

Mark 11:24-25 'Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.'

Concerning prayer for our church

Although God never changes, His body, the Church, is a constantly changing entity growing each day to achieve perfection through Our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is our reverent prayer that as New Life adapts to the challenges we will face in the coming days that God will, with the compassion that only He is capable of giving, look upon this body and pour out His Spirit. We are striving to reach a place of total dependence and desperation for our God. This week, please meet with God and ask Him to provide us with clear direction so that we may move ahead with one accord. Specifically, ask God to speak to our Pastor concerning mission out-reach, and how to prepare this body for the task as hand, the harvest at Plattsmouth!

Father, it is our prayer that as we enter into this time with you, that you will hear our prayer and provide an answer that serves the purpose of Your will - amen.
